A Tale of Distraction

So, my process isn't allways straight forward. An example: Yesterday I had to move some garden furniture inside because of the pending winds.

A few of the lawn chairs have metal frames, so I think we should keep them inside for the winter. Don't want them to get even more rusty.

I wanted to make some space for the chairs in a storage room in the basement. I just had to tidy a little.

While tidyling I found a large box on the top shelve. Being curious about what the box contained, I took it down. It was a box of boxes.

More specifically a box of boxes for effect pedals. (You know "I've got the box!") Like for guitar and such. Looking in this box, I realized that there was room for more boxes, so I went looking.

In my studio I found a box for a pedal I bought this summer. I have sort of forgotten about the pedal, so it's never left the box. There was also a manual, and this being a new pedal for me, I took a look.

I really didn't want to put the box in the box of boxes without the manual in it, that would just mean I made even more of a mess. The natural choice: Try the pedal while the manual was still on hand.

I picked up my guitar. It was already plugged into my computer, but no audio. To unmute the guitar I logged on. Remember, I was in the process of tiding away the lawn chairs.

Once I was logged in, I remember that I had struggled with the OneDrive sync yesterday, and now the icon had a red angry symbol with the message "not enough storage". I already knew that I was closing in on my alloted storage space, so this wasn't a huge supprise. I just had to move a few files to another OneDrive account that has plenty of space. Anyway, this didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped, but I tried. While waiting for the move to happen, I tried the pedal. Won't go into detals, but I found something kinda cool.

After doing some copying and seeing that files were being synced, I put away my guitar, put the pedal manual in the box. Found another box and went back to the storage room.

Having filled the box of boxes, I could put that back on the shelve and go fetch a couple of lawn chairs.

I still need to find a good place for the lawn chair pillows, but first I felt compelled to tell my tale.
